PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY Dr. Marco Iera is a resident plastic surgeon at the Breast Surgery and Senology Unit at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital in Milan and the founder of the Istituto Clinica Brera. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Perugia where he specialized in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Iera collaborated with the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the European Institute of Oncology in Milan, where he received University funding for the development of the Clinical and Surgical Research Project “Use of biological materials in post-mastectomy breast reconstruction” and for the development of the Clinical and Surgical Research Project “Randomised trial comparing Veritas ™, Protexa ™ and muscular pocket in immediate breast reconstruction with definitive implant after mastectomy for breast cancer” at the Department of Medical Oncology and the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He gained extensive experience in the field of breast reconstructive and oncoplastic surgery, of which he was a referent at the same IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele - Breast Unit, directed by Dr. Oreste Gentilini. Throughout his career he has performed over 2000 operations as an assistant and first operator. This case history covers all areas of specialist pathology, with particular attention to destructive and reconstructive breast surgery with autologous tissues and prosthetic devices, aesthetic breast surgery (breast augmentation, breast reduction, mastopexy), aesthetic surgery of the face and body (blepharoplasty, breast augmentation, liposuction and liposculpture, lipofilling to fill hollow and post-scar areas), skin oncology surgery, melanoma surgery and new related diagnostic methods (sentinel lymph node), reconstructive surgery of the thoracic and abdominal wall, surgery for upper and lower limb trauma, aesthetic medicine (Fillers, botulinum toxin, biorevitalisers, mesotherapy).
